Description: Originally known as Recitation Hall, this building was built in the Colonial Revival style in 1902. The building was later renamed Oakes Hall in 1921 after Reverend Chandler Oakes, one of the original Board of Trustees of the Normal School. The building was three stories tall and used for classrooms. It stood at the present site of Beers Lecture Hall and was demolished in 1979.
