Rose Xavier, an English literature major from the class of 2018, researched and conducted interviews of Slippery Rock Homecoming Queens. The research culminated in the essay “Queens of Slippery Rock” co-authored by Xavier and Brenna Waugaman for the 2018 edition of SLAB literary magazine.

Bob Jones, a 1983 Slippery Rock State College (SRSC) graduate, designed the original Rocky the Rock mascot and portrayed it as a student and as an alumnus at Slippery Rock University events. Rocky made its debut in 1978, when Bob Jones was a freshman at SRSC.

At times there were separate undergraduate and graduate catalogs in print as well as catalogs for summer sessions. Catalogs contained course and degree descriptions, curriculum outlines, an academic year calendar, fees, history of the institution, scholarship requirements, information on individual Board of Trustee Members, administrators and faculty, and other useful information for students.
